Collaborations
Mission Africa has partnered with and have established a working relationship with First Five Years & Beyond (FFYB) through three projects in 2020.
We have collaborated on the Youth Marijuana Education and Prevention (YMEP) project funded by the King County Public Health Department where we worked with Seven African Youth as they developed their presentation and public speaking skills while educating their peers and community leaders about Youth exposure to Marijuana and other substances.
We also worked together educating, informing and engaging the Africans in the South King County Communities to participate in the 2020 Census through a grant from the Washington Census Equity Funds Philanthropy Northwest. Through this project we engaged over 150 Africans to participate in the 2020 Census.
Mission Africa has also been instrumental in the creation of the African and African American Parent Board with grant and support through the Road Map Project. This Board provides opportunities for African and African American parents to build relationships within and across cultures as they create a learning community to explore opportunities through an equity lens and advocacy to better support their children in the school system.
Volunteer Services
Every year, Mission Africa organizes a team of volunteers to serve a local organization on Martin Luther King’s day of service. A community service day project of the United Way of King County.

We kicked off a Summer of Giving by distributing notebook paper to nonprofit organizations to help prepare students for the next school year.
