Ifunanya JosephineMy name is Ifunanya, I am a Public Health Professional. I have volunteered for Mission Africa for about 9 years.

Mission Africa Medical Outreaches have given me the opportunities to reach out to people in different capacities, but the highlight I want to share is my experience in 2022 outreach in Enugu, Nigeria.

I volunteered in the eye clinic. During our outreach, an elderly man was brought in to get his eyes checked and on sighting him, I observed he had a swollen feet, after much probing on why he had a swollen feet. I discovered he is a widower staying alone and all his children were not close by.

Finally, I succeeded with the help of a Red Cross Society member to link him up to a Community Nurse who is related to him, to follow up with the man's children for proper medical attention. I felt fulfilled and happy that the man would get proper medical check up.

God bless Mission Africa. Eni Elechi Ifunanya Josephine. (BSc. MPH/MPhil).
