Mission Africa: Alleviating Poverty and Building Stronger Communities
At Mission Africa, we are incredibly proud of the strides we've made in alleviating poverty and supporting families in need every day. Through our impactful programs and the unwavering support of our generous donors and dedicated volunteers, we’ve been able to provide essential resources to local communities.
Smiles at Christmas Toy Drive
Our "Smiles at Christmas" toy drive is one of our most anticipated events each year. We provide toys and warm clothing to families in need, ensuring that children can experience the joy and magic of the holiday season without adding to their families' financial burdens.
Grocery Assistance Program
Renton Regional Community Foundation, City of Covington, City of Issaquah and King County Public Health have all funded and partnered with us to fight food insecurity among immigrant and low-income families in South King County by offering free grocery support, especially during times of economic hardship.
Mission Africa’s Food and Goods Pantry at our Federal Way office is a vital resource for local families, providing non-perishable foods and household items to alleviate the daily pressures of poverty. Stocked year-round, the pantry plays a key role in our Grocery Assistance Program.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our incredible partners for their generous donations, ensuring that our pantry is consistently stocked and able to serve families year-round. World Vision, Amazon Fulfillment Centers SWA1 and SWA2, Live Life Church (for their foundational support in setting up the pantry), and kind-hearted individuals who volunteer on a daily basis to stock the pantry.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on the impact we've made, we are reminded that our work is only possible because of the collaborative efforts of our partners, volunteers, and donors. Together, we are creating stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities. With your continued support, we look forward to doing even more in the year ahead. Thank you for helping us make a difference- one family at a time
If you know someone in the community who could benefit from extra support, we warmly encourage you to send them our way.
